A child is enroute to a Leavenworth hospital in critical condition after nearly drowning in a residential swimming pool late Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was dispatched by Leavenworth emergency services at 5:50 p.m. to an address in the 1500 block of South 22nd Court.
The child was an 8-year-old female and she was later flown by medical helicopter to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City- still in critical condition.
