CSW BREAKING: Critical-Injuries in 1-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 71 in Grandview

An "approximately 55-year-old male driver" is in critical condition at a Metro K.C. hospital after wrecking his minivan on U.S. 71 early Sunday morning.

The crash happened about 2:05 a.m. on northbound U.S. 71 at Blue Ridge Boulevard.

Police at the scene reported the van was "on-fire" and the vehicle was "on top" of the driver's "head."

Northbound U.S. 71 traffic was diverted off onto Blue Ridge and back to U.S. 71 on the northbound ramp.
