Morning Storms Possible in Metro K.C.

Current weather radar shows an area of showers and strong thunderstorms crossing the Kansas - Nebraska state border north into extreme northwestern Missouri into Iowa.

The activity is about 75 miles northwest of Downton KC-MO and the storms are moving southeast at around 20 m.p.h.- so this would put storms in the Metro around 8 a.m. if they hold together.

There is also a "slight risk" of severe thunderstorms today according to the Storm Prediction Center of the NWS.

That risk is primarily for this afternoon's predicted storm development and affects the entire Kansas City MetroRegion.
