WEATHER: Metro Roadways In Good Shape

J
ust completed a trip to Lee's Summit and back- roadways wet but no icy spots (even on 2-lane side roads) yet with the current air temp here off I-435 & 87th Street in southeast KC-MO at 36-degrees.

My next trip is to K.C.I airport just after 3 pm- current air temp at KCI is 33-degrees- Downtown airport is 34 and Olathe airport at 151st St. & Quivira 32-degrees.

All area traffic cameras indicate freeway traffic light and moving along well- near posted speed (disregarding the in-a-hurry drivers as on any day).

It now appears any icy conditions will hold off till later this evening in the Metro.

Outside the Metro- most of the state of Iowa and eastern Nebraska are now under blizzard warnings. Driving conditions north on Interstates 29 & 35 in the northern MetroRegion and in those states will become increasingly hazardous to near impossible after dark.

The low pressure center responsible for this mess is still near Denver CO- and it'll be near midnight unitl that low is really close to us.

NOTE: I'll be doing 'special duty' for KSHB-41 News at 3-7am tomorrow morning- and I'll post updates here at those times as well as later this evening.

But right now- we're looking wet but good in the Metro!
