KANSAS CITY MetroRegion WEATHER: Rain- Ice And Snow This Weekend

The latest late-autumn storm will begin to affect the area with precipitation starting Friday night.

Friday should start out warm- with high temperatures in the 50's or running about 15-20-degrees above normal. Then- an Arctic cold front moves in early Saturday morning- dropping temperatures to freezing and below by Saturday afternoon.

Rain will be round one of this storm system Friday night- possibly changing to light freezing rain as temperatures fall to the freezing mark Saturday morning. Precipitation amounts look to be at a quarter of an inch or less- so major icing is not expected.

Later Saturday as low pressure moves along the front which will be to our south- snow will begin falling over the MetroRegion.

At this time- it appears the Kansas City Metro is in for another 2 to 4-inch snowfall by the time Sunday morning rolls around.

Perhaps Sunday afternoon will be a good time for the sled and a visit to Suicide Hill and next week again a good time to be the owner of a car wash....
