** MAJOR ROADWAY IN KC-MO CLOSED DUE TO WRECK **

The crash was at Blue Parkway and Coalmine Road- west of Sni-A-Bar at 4:50am.

A vehicle sheared of a large utility pole- causing a large group of utility lines to hang low over Blue Parkway- forcing police to close the roadway through this report.
No word on vehicle occupant injuries.

** SERIOUS WRECK IN INDEPENDNCE-MO **

... A male was taken to a Northland trauma center in critical condition after a crash on Truman Road west of M-291 just before 1am Satuday morning.

There were no details available from police at press time.

<><><> OVERNIGHT WEATHER <><><>

Temperatures fell from 50 degrees at midnight in K.C. to the upper 30's as a cold front bisected the Kansas City MetroRegion at dawn Satuday morning.
Winds turned from the south to the north- and were on the increase as they'll be all day.

The first of a vangaurd of precipitation was developing over southeastern Kansas this morning and moving north and northeast. The precip could start out as sleet before changing over to snow later today.

Snow will overspread virtuallty all of the MetroRegion by afternoon- with 2 to 4-inches generally but isolated amounts of half a foot possible in a narrow southwest-northeast band near the central MetroRegion.
Strong northerly winds will cause blowing and drifting of snow- and dangerous driving near-whiteout conditions at times in some areas.
