KANSAS CITY'S BREAKING NEWS: KC-KS Fatality Crash

One person is dead after a S-U-V roll-over crash in KC-KS early Saturday morning.

The wreck was reported at 1:10am- on the ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70.

The fatality was found dead-on-arrival by emergency responders.

There was an indication- due to a sizable police & Kansas Highway Patrol response- that this MAY have been more than a fatality crash- but KC-KS police weren't saying anything about that facet yet.

UPDATE: 0340 CDT- Yet unconfirmed by KC-KS PD- the victim in this crash MAY have been an off-duty police officer- explaining the large number of cops there.

_________

UPDATE: 1530 CDT- It has been confirmed that the victim in this accident was indeed an off-duty KC-KS male police officer- Mark A. Jaramillo.

This story then takes an very bizzare twist- something I've not heard in my 20-plus years in the news business.

According to 41Action News- a 2nd off-duty male officer- Kyle L. Kovac- apparently the driver of the crashed S-U-V- left the scene after the wreck- then committed suicide at his residence.
