K.C. MetroRegion WEATHER: Severe Storm Watch Possible Soon

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center (NWS-SPC) just issued a statement saying that a severe thunderstorm watch may be needed for the thunderstorm activity building to our northwest and north (see radar image below- click to enlarge).

The northern about 2/3 of the MetroRegion- including the Metro- continues to be in a "slight risk" area for severe storms- with the primary severe threats being large hail and damaging stright-line winds.

Any risk for a tornado- while there with ANY severe storm- remains low in this scenario.

More here as the situation develops.
