K.C. MetroRegion WEATHER: NWS-SPC: "Slight Risk" Of Severe Thunderstorms

According to the latest NWS-SPC convective (thunderstorm) forecast- about the northern 2/3 of the Kansas City MetroRegion- including the K.C. Metro- is now under a "slight risk" of severe thunderstorms from now until early Friday morning.

The entire MetroRegion is under that same storm risk on Friday as well.

What I'm watching is an outflow boundary left over from this morning's thunderstorm complex that grazed the eastern part of the Metro.

This visible satellite image clearly shows that outflow boundary to the south and west of K.C. (marked by a red dashed line-click image for full size).

This boundary could serve as a focus point for thunderstorm development during the afternoon into this evening.

I'm also watching thunderstorms in northwest Missouri moving southeastward generally along the outflow. These storms should re-generate along this outflow boundary as these storms move southeast toward St. Joseph and eventually- the K.C. Metro.

Note as well all the flash flood & flood warnings in Iowa.

Check local radio or TV for updates- as well as here at CSW.
