Overnight House Fire In St. Joseph Kills 6

It's just as well it was too damn noisy and busy in the K.C. Metro overnight that I didn't hear what happened in the biggest city in the northern MetroRegion...

A St. Joseph-MO residence caught fire and killed 4 children and 2 adults. One man- who was injured- escaped death by leaping out of a 2nd-story window.

The fire was reported around 5:30 am in the 2800 block of Sacramento.

St. Joseph Fire department officials said there were no working smoke detectors in the home- frequently filled with children- neighbors say.

The Captain knows all too well of death by fire- and sincere condolences to survivors of this terrible tragedy as well as the Saint Joe emergency crews that had to work the incident.
