CENTRAL STATES WEATHER: NWS-SPC Says A "Slight Risk" Of Severe Storms In IOWA- NEBRASKA

This according to the latest "Day-1 Convective Outlook" just issued by the Storm Prediction Center in Norman-OK.

As shown on the click-to-enlarge map- the "slight risk" area covers about the northwestern half of Iowa and Nebraska from Omaha NW to the South Dakota border south of Souix Falls.

Notice the brown line on the map. To the right of that line ordinary thunderstorms can be expected- and that line has moved south of Kansas City since the last outlook early this Saturday morn.

It looks that some aspect of the present shower/thunderstorm activity in north and south-central Kansas may provide some precip or at least welcome cooling for the western half of the Kansas City MetroRegion as the day wears on.
