The crash was reported at 3:17 a.m. Saturday morning and it involved a pickup truck and another vehicle that reportedly "crashed into a guardrail."
The driver of the guardrail vehicle- "an about 28-year-old male-" was transported to Overland Park- Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck refused EMS services.
About 15 minutes after the wreck was reported- police closed westbound I-435 at U.S. 71 to all traffic.
It is unknown how long the freeway will be closed there.
