Four companies of the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District were called-out at 3:18 a.m. on the report that smoke was in one side of the unit in the 500 block of Northwest 3rd Street.
Police arrived minutes later and reported a fire in the back of the structure- and when CJC units arrived- they asked for an addition engine company and EMS unit to respond to the fire.
It took at least 45 minutes to completely extinguish the flames- but no one was reported injured.
The cause of the fire was under investigation as of this report.
