CSW BREAKING: Haz-Mat Incident in Pleasant Hill MO

Around 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon- Pleasant Hill firefighters were called out to Independence Avenue and Cedar on the report of fuel spilled into a creek there.


Firefighters have found gasoline in the small neighborhood creek/drainage ditch- reportedly originating from a nearby (Casey's) convenience store- and- at 2:09 p.m.- requested a Harrisonville FD Haz-Mat crew.

Reports from the scene indicate there was possibly some sort of "alarm sounding the past few days" regarding the convenience store's underground fuel tanks- but no one at the store apparently bothered to advise authorities.


No word yet on the amount of fuel spilled into the creek- it sounds to be fairly considerable- or of any possible evacuations of the affected area one block west of M-7 highway in central PH....
