NWS 'Flood Watch' For Southern and Eastern K.C. MetroRegion

T
he approaching storm system will produce persistent showers- and a few thunderstorms in the southern through eastern Kansas City MetroRegion.

This will bring heavy rains to nearly saturated soil in the region- possibly producing flooding- so the NWS issued a Flood Watch from "6 am Sunday through Sunday night for the following areas:

SALINE- HOWARD- CASS- JOHNSON- PETTIS- COOPER- BATES- HENRY counties in Missouri- including the cities of MARSHALL- FAYETTE- NEW FRANKLIN- RAYMORE-HARRISONVILLE- PLEASANT HILL- WARRENSBURG- SEDALIA- BOONVILLE- BUTLER- RICH HILL and CLINTON.

The good news is that the warmer air being brought north with this storm should PERHAPS bring temperatures up a few degrees in Metro Kansas City and we'll avoid any ice or further snowfall until at least later Sunday.
