CSW BREAKING: Electrical Fire Shuts Down KC-MO's Federal Building

At 12:27 pm- 12 companies of the Kansas City (MO) Fire department responded on a "high-rise response- fire in the basement" of the Federal building at 601 East 12th Street downtown.

There was reportedly a fire in a basement electrical transformer- and that fire sent acrid smoke throughout the 20-story building that houses many Federal agencies.

Fire crews were concerned about children in a daycare center at the building- and ordered 4 MAST-EMS units.

As of this post- NO injuries have been reported from the scene- and the fire was declared "under control" at 1:15 pm.

The Federal Building has no power whatsoever and the building is being completely evacuated.
