Kansas City Metro-MetroRegion WEATHER: "Slight Risk" of Severe Storms Later Today-Overnight

This is an update of a post attempted but un-postable earlier this morning due to on-going Time-Warner communications issues.





The very pleasant summer weather we've had for about the past 3 days is not necessarily coming to an end- just some rain (some areas nearby- a lot) and thunderstorms to spice it up.


Possibility of some hail and severe wind gusts too- according to the latest outlook from the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center (NWS-SPC).

The "slight risk" area is generally along and west of M-13 in Missouri and all of the Kansas MetroRegion (see map).


The latest NWS-HPC rainfall forecast for the next 5 days shows some rather copious rainfall totals over- west and northwest of Metro K.C.- generally along and north of I-70 in Kansas. This will bear watching as well.
