NWS "Heat Advisory" For Much Of U.S. Central States

"Roll out those lazy- hazy- crazy days of summer...."

We love that Nat "King" Cole classic and just like the summers of our youth- it's turning hot and humid.

Nowadays- the National Weather Service (NWS) finds it necessary to warn us of such times- so the entire Kansas City MetroRegion is under a "Heat Advisory."

Seriously- I've heard about a half-dozen heat-related ambulance calls over the last few days and most of them are the elderly living without air conditioning or not being able to afford to run it.

Please- if you know of any elderly people living alone- check on them during these sweltering summer days.

Each of us should know the hot weather rules as well: stay hydrated but avoid excessive alcohol intake to hydrate you.

Know the beginning signs and treatment for heat exhaustion and the more serious heat stroke.

But most of all enjoy summer!

"You'll wish that summer could always be here..." until you get your electric bill!
