It was reported to be an electrical fire at Temple Heights- a multi-story building occupied by elderly residents in the 5400 block of Blue Ridge Cutoff.This incident that started around 8:30 pm has resulted in power being shut off to the about 10-story building and an evacuation of it's about 100 residents necessary.
The fire itself was fairly-minor- but without air conditioning and elevators- firefighters and EMS crews from as far away as Lee's Summit and KC-MO are helping to move those residents to a safer location.
Have heard of only "one patient prepared for transport" to a medical facility as of 8:55pm..
As of 9:45pm- there have been at least 3 residents transported to area hospitals from this location due to medical problems due to this incident.
KCP&L is on-scene tending to at least one burned electrical transformer while the building's emergency generator powers minimal systems at Temple Heights.
