AmerenUE Wants MO Law Changed For Their Profit

According to fellow blogger Mark over at The KANSAS CITY POST blog- AmerenUE- a Missouri utility company known for bad dams- wants to build another nuclear reactor at their Callaway Nuke plant in eastern Missouri.

AmerenUE apparently also wants a 1976 Missouri law repealed that does not allow utilities to charge customers for new power plants until they are online and producing electricity.

AmerenUE allowed a power plant dam to fail in December of 2005 which flooded and ruined Missouri's Johnson's Shut-Ins State park and decimated the lives of the park ranger's family.

AmerenUE officials were slapped on the wrist for that one- we'll see how their overturning of a state law turns out.
