K.C. Metro - MetroRegion WEATHER: Flash-Flood - Severe Thunderstorm Watch No. 489 Now In Effect

In addition to a threat of flooding rainfalls- covered in the MetroRegion by a Flash-Flood Watch- the NWS-SPC has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that will cover most of the K.C. Metro and areas north & west until 8pm this Sunday evening (see/click on image for precise county coverage).

Scattered showers keep trying to form over the northwest & north Metro- but the cool front and organized activity remains in a broken line from Nemaha to Kingman counties in Kansas.

Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread through the evening and overnight. Heavy rains on nearly-saturated soils will help produce flash-flooding which may affect the Metro's Monday morning drive-time.

Updates here at CSW as needed....
