CSW BREAKING: "First-Alarm" Building Fire in East Kansas City MO

At least eight fire companies made quick work of a fire in a KC-MO East Side church...

The alarm sounded for a "building fire" at 12th Street and Belmont at 3:17 p.m..

The incident was actually found in a church- a block north of 12th Street on the southeast corner of Belmont and Peery.

The fire was in the attic and eaves of the El Alfarero Church- where crews tore into the roof and the building's siding to get to the flames.

By 3:38 p.m.- firefighters declared the fire under control- saving most of the building from further damage.

As a side note- KC-MO fire department resources were further depleted at 3:35 p.m. with another full-response fire call...

A "house fire" is reported less than two miles away at "24th Street and Myrtle."

Five fire companies headed there only to discover- at 3:40 p.m.- that this was "someone barbecueing" some dinner only.
