According to this story in the INDEPENDENCE- BLUE SPRINGS- GRAIN VALLEY EXAMINER- Tom Waters- president of the Independence Square Association- wants to city to approve (an additional) "community improvement district (CID) tax" to publicize the Square's businesses.
Never mind that the CID ALREADY has a tax imposed on it- or that the places MOST people want to do their shopping or relax at are in and around the 39th Street and M-291 corridor that Indy's leaders heavily subsidized.
Additional taxes on taxes raise the prices people pay- who the Hell wants that???
