I mentioned this BEFORE the Christmas Blizzard of 2009- how municipal budgets already strained by The Recession (Depression) have seen even more tightening now that almost of week of snow clearing/removal has arrived.
Among cities claiming the snow-removal budget is approaching or have exceeded budgeted amounts are Des Moines - Omaha and Manhattan KS..
I imagine we'll be hearing REAL soon from Kansas City MO's governmental leaders on how the Winter of 2009-10 will be draining already bare city coffers and MAYBE how the city wishes they had monies like the half-million spent on a stupid downtown convention hotel study.
