WEATHER: I-70 Closed In Colorado Due To Snowstorm

he NWS says I-70 is closed just east of Denver-CO- due to an on-going early-season snowstorm.



Blizzard warnings are in effect for the I-25 corridor north of Denver.


Denver has been whacked by snow from this storm- as shown here on some Denver-area traffic cameras within the hour...



Here's a snippet from a recent NWS statement:

"STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL SO FAR HAS RANGED FROM NEARLY 44 INCHES IN
THE FOOTHILLS NORTHWEST OF DENVER TO GENERALLY 15 TO 25 INCHES IN
THE FRONT RANGE URBAN CORRIDOR AND 8 TO 15 INCHES FARTHER EAST.


THE HEAVIER SNOWS ARE INCREASING NOW OVER THE MORE EASTERN PLAINS.

THE HEAVY SNOW HAS BROKEN SOME TREE LIMBS WITH SCATTERED POWER
OUTAGES AS WELL
