Mass Street In Lawrence-KS On A Spring Afternoon

This view- courtesy of the Lawrence Journal-World- is looking south on Massachusetts (Mass) Street in Downtown Lawrence.

Note the darkened sky on the southern horizon. This is from severe thunderstorms in southeastern Kansas which will move into rain-drenched southwestern Missouri later this afternoon.

Other storms are developing northwestward into eastern and northern Kansas- as seen on this latest radar image (click to enlarge) from NWS Pleasant Hill-MO..

The entire Kansas City MetroRegion remains under a slight risk for severe storms- mainly large hail- later today into early Wednesday morning.

At this time of post- there are no severe weather warnings or watches affecting any part of the MetroRegion.
