Kansas City MetroRegion WEATHER Heads-Up: Severe Storm Chance Late Wednesday

The warm and sunny Indian Summer weather of the past 5 days should come to an end Thursday with the arrival of a intense low pressure system and accompanying cold front.

The National Weather Service's (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman-OK has outlooked the entire Kansas City MetroRegion is a "slight risk" area of possible severe thunderstorms from Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning.

Large hail and severe wind gusts are most likely- but there is also the chance for a few tornadoes is any discrete thunderstorm supercells develop prior to linear development of storms.

If the individual storm cells don't get us- a strong to severe thunderstorm squall line should. The most likely time frame here in the Metro at this time would be from 3pm to about midnight Wednesday.

Of course- updates here as usual.
