Kansas City Metro-MetroRegion WEATHER: SPC- "Slight Risk" Of Severe Storms Late Today

A strong low pressure center with it's entourage of frontal systems should produce strong- pressure-gradient winds today- and a chance of severe thunderstorms later this afternoon and tonight over the entire Kansas City MetroRegion.

Wind gusts will reach and possibly exceed 40 MPH at times today with high winds and possibly large hail being the main threats in the severe storms.

As with any severe thunderstorm- there is also a very slight chance for a tornado or two.

This weather system is the forefront of a pattern change that will bring more seasonable temperatures and precipitation to the Central States for the next week to 10 days.
