*** Fatal Wrecks In KC & Lee's Summit-MO ****** Two separate wrecks early Sunday morning claimed the life of a female in KC-MO and a male in Lee's Summit.
...The crash in KC-MO was just after 2:45am on northbound U.S. 71 at Red Bridge.
A car apparently containing at least 3 females left the roadway. One of the female occupants was ejected during the crash and taken by Grandview FD-EMS to an area trauma center in grave condition. The other patients' medical conditions were much less serious.
... The Lee's Summit crash also involved a single vehicle- and was reportedly found by a law enforcement officer- on Woods Chapel Road about 1/4-mile east of I-470.
That officer reported 2 patients- one of them dead- but EMS transported a gravely-injured male in his 20's to a nearby trauma center. The 2nd victim's injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident occurred around 1am in the 3700 block of Monroe. No suspect informatipon was available from police.

** FIRE DAMAGES 2 HOMES IN KC-MO **
... A fire in the 5700 block of Wabash heavily damaged one home and spread to another with the help of gusty south winds just before 12:30am..
A car parked at the gutted home led firefighters to believe the home may have been occupied- but they were forced outside by the flames for about 15 minutes.
No firefighters were injured- the results of a fire investigator's report not yet released.

The weather across the MetroRegion overnight was of extremes- Missouri temperatures at dawn ranged from 30-degrees in Maryville to 64-degrees in Marshall and Warrensburg. It was 63 in Harrisonville.
Winds were southerly ahead of the strong cold front coming through the middle of the Kansas City MetroRegion- and gusty northerly behingd the front.
Cloud ceilings lowered and by 7am- weather radars were indicating light precipitation developing from near Ottawa-KS- KC- Lexington-MO southward and in southeastern Nebraska and southwestern Iowa- that is sleet and/or snow. All precipitation will end in the Metro by noon.
The next weather-maker is expected by late week- until then seasonable to mild conditions into Tuesday.
