*** A National Weather Service freezing rain advisory is in effect for later this Saturday into Sunday morning for virtually all of the Kansas City MetroRegion.
Drizzle today- some of which may freeze on surfaces- with the main precipitation forecasted by the NWS to begin this Saturday evening- overnight through Sunday morning.
One tenth to a quarter-inch of ice coating is expected. Temperature variations within 2 degrees of 32F will maintain through at least Monday.
The main ice show is still on track for Monday.
Incredible forecasted (melted) precipitation amounts of up to 2 inches are possible somewhere from southeastern Kansas into central Missouri.
Forecasted temperatures in many of the same areas indicate a major- to say the least- ice storm.

The incident reported happened around 3am in the 2500 block of Prospect. Police had no suspect information nor immediate medical condition of the man..

Temperatures fell slowly into the upper 20's to lower 30's overnight while areas north of KC-MO got some freezing drizzle around 1 to 2am..
Radar and traffic camera images indicated another area of freezing drizzle moving into southern and western parts of the KC Metro just after 6am. This area will spread northeastward across the Metro over the next hour.
Freezing drizzle should continue off and on all day- gradually increasing into a light freezing rain after dark.
