Flood- Flash-Flood Warnings In SE Kansas - SW Missouri

If you are driving south out of Kansas City this morning on U.S. 69- U.S. 169 or U.S. 71- be advised there are a number of counties under flood warnings. As much as 6-inches of rain may have fallen in some of the warned areas according to radar estimates.

Also be advised that additional counties- especially Linn County KS.- may be added as per the radar image shown below.

As of 1:50 am- these NWS warnings are:
FLOOD WARNING FOR: CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS- COWLEY COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS- ELK COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS- LABETTE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS- MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS- NEOSHO COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS- and WILSON COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS UNTIL 800 AM CDT.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS FOR: JASPER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI- BARTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI and CHEROKEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS UNTIL 600 AM CDT MONDAY.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR: NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI UNTIL 400 AM CDT MONDAY.



Showers and storms will be moving into southern portions of the Kansas City Metro over the next several hours.
