The incident broke out about 12:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the Econolodge Motel at 209 East Flaming Drive- virtually across the street from Olathe Fire station 1.
Heavy smoke was reported inside the 2-story structure that was evacuated by fire crews as they fought "a dryer fire."
The fire was reported under control at 12:57 a.m. with damage restricted to the dryer and area around it- and no reports of injured motel patrons.
