Tens of thousands of Metro Kansas Citians will be inconvenienced by the closure of the westbound I-470/northbound U.S. 71 ramp to westbound I-435 and who knows when the roadway will be repaired.
The image here can be found at this link- be aware the MoDOT people move this camera around- so you won't always be looking at the sinkhole and the closed roadway.
This view is to the southeast- the roadway in the lower right is north and southbound U.S. 71 (future I-49).
Also- seems like a LOT of commuters used the Bannister Road turn-around option.
Rest assured- the drive HOME will be better....
