Fire broke out in a 2-1/2-story house in the 2600 block of Lexington Avenue around 9:15 a.m..
Five companies of the KC-MO Fire department responded on the initial alarm- and they found smoke showing from the 2nd-story when crews arrived at 9:18 a.m..
Two handlines were used on the flames- brought under control at 9:32 a.m..
No one was in the house and no reports of any firefighters being injured as of this post.
The cause is under investigation.
