CSW WEATHER: NWS 'Winter Storm Watch' Downgraded To Advisory

Good news if you're sick of (winter) snow- it appears a couple of changes in forecast parameters have lessened the chance for a heavy snowstorm over most of Metro and MetroRegion Kansas City.

The National Weather Service downgraded our Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Weather Advisory- meaning in a nutshell that only "3 to 5 inches" of snow is now expected by late Monday.

Temperatures here near the old Bannister Mall are presently in the upper-30's (37)- and remain just above the 32-degree freezing mark at all weather reporting stations here in the Metro.

Don't think terribly slick roads should be an issue for driving until at least late tonight into Monday as temperatures will be slow to fall below freezing from present temperatures.

A cold front is not slated to arrive until around midday Monday- and indications are now that temperatures later this week won't be as cold as earlier thought.

Updates here at CSW as needed- we'll be up late watching and listening....
