CSW BREAKING: Child Rescued From Icy Lake In Shawnee KS



The call came in just after 3:45 pm- there was a male child who had broken through the ice of a lake at 13101 West 65th Street in Shawnee.

Response of nearby Shawnee police- fire and MEDACT-EMS was quick- the child was said to be "30 yards out" from the lake shore but at 3:53 pm- that child is rescued and taken to a nearby MEDACT-EMS unit.

The victim- "a 13-year-old male" according to MEDACT-EMS- is suffering from hypothermia- but had managed to keep his head above water through the ordeal and is in good condition.
