Man Missing After Jump In Lake To Avoid Sobriety Test


UPDATE- 1705 CDT: The 19-year-old man thought to have possibly drowned in Hillsdale Lake was located today by Miami county-KS authorities. The man apparently crawled out of Hillsdale Lake undetected while an area search was underway early Sunday morning.

The man had jumped into the lake to avoid a sobriety test.

rews from at least 2 Kansas Metro fire departments are searching an area of Hillsdale Lake in northwestern Miami County-KS for a 19-year-old male.


Reports are that the male was having "a field sobriety test administered" to him around 1 am Sunday morning when the man "ran away and jumped into the lake" near a boat ramp on the west side of the Hillsdale dam.

The man reportedly has not been seen since he jumped into the water and the search continues.
