As of this writing- I've been watching an intense area of rain sitting northwest of Austin-TX. Over the past two hours- radar-indicated precipitation totals in that area have reached 8-9 inches with heavy rain continuing.
Such is the problem over large parts of Texas and Oklahoma- where a stagnant upper-atmosphere low-pressure area has caused almost daily rains over these areas for the past several weeks.
Worse news: the heavy rains are to continue for at least the next 48 hours and now areas to the north- including the Kansas City MetroRegion- are also under the gun for possible flash-flooding.__________________________
