That jet landed safely at K.C.I. airport (MCI) just minutes ago after heavy smoke in the cockpit was reported by the crew of the 767 jet over the Central States about 9:45am Monday morning.A reported 227 passengers and crew was on board that United airline jet, No one has been reported injured and no emergency evacuation of the plane was necessary when it landed.
KC-MO Fire airport crews- using an infared device- reported finding a "minor" heat source in the front baggage compartment behind the cockpit after the plane landed.
