*** A 56-year-old woman got burned and inhaled smoke in an apartment building fire in Riverside around 2:15am Saturday morning. Her injuries were serious but not immediately life-threatening.
Another male suffered a bruised head but refused transport to a hospital from the scene of the 2-alarm fire in the 4400 block of De Mons Drive.
The first arriving of the 2 Riverside fire companies reported the 2-story building "heavily-involved" in flames and "possibly people trapped inside" at 2:25am.. Flames also caught at least part of a 2nd building.
Six other fire companies from Southern Platte and KC-MO Fire departments helped RIverside bring the fire under control by about 4:30am..
The cause of the fire was under investigation..

Cloudy skies were producing only snow flurries in the southwest Metro and some light snow over Kansas parts of the MetroRegion Saturday morning. Temperatures ranged from the middle-20's to the lower-30's.
