Small-Minded Members of Little Central States Church Has A Fire of Ignorance

U
nlike most American news media outlets- I'm not going to ignore what when on today in a  nearby MetroRegion city.

What I am going to do is file this report from my elderly correspondent about what went on without mentioning names- so as not to give that little church any further noteriety.

Flames Of Hate and Ignorance
by C. Lady

The small-minded members of a little church in a nearby city burned a Quran and an American flag today- their warped way of showing peace and love and remembrance of this 9th anniversary of the 9-11-2001 terrorist attacks.

Just prior to the burning- what appeared to be a man dressed in red with little appendages sticking out his head- arrived at the church- reportedly to light the fire.

The Man in Red and the church members danced around the flames- singing and speaking unintelligible words.

I attempted to interview Red Man- but he refused to divulge his name or any other information before he left in a whirlwind- unfortunately leaving the church members behind.

Witnesses did say that Red Man was a frequent guest at the church and often accompanied church members in their frequent trips.

Driver Rescues Self After Plunge Into A Creek

It was around 4:25 a.m. Saturday morning when a young male lost control the pickup truck he was driving on 215th Street near Watts Road in far eastern Cass county MO and plunged into a rain-swollen creek.

Pleasant Hill (PH) fire and EMS- as well as the Cass County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the scene south of Strasburg at 4:28 and 4:29 a.m. respectively.

The PHFD dispatcher reports talking to the parents in regard to this rescue call- that the water in the creek "was rising rapidly-" and that the parents were also enroute to aid their son.

The emergency responders have not arrived when- at 4:37 a.m.- PHFD dispatch tells them the parent is saying that "their son is safely out" of the truck and onto dryer land.

"The truck was "left in the creek" though.

At 4:41 a.m.- still before responders had made it to the scene- the driver- apparently uninjured- "left the scene with his parents."

One Confirmed- Others Feared Dead in Massive Gas Main Explosion in South San Francisco Suburb

Fires in and around American cities this week have taken out hundreds of structures and entire neighborhoods in Detroit MI and Boulder CO..

The latest fire disaster is a conflagration in California.

Around 8:15 p.m. Kansas City time Thursday evening- a possibly 24-inch underground natural gas pipeline in a suburban-type neighborhood ruptured in San Bruno California.

The violent explosion that reportedly left a crater 15 feet deep and 25 feet wide- broke a water main as it shot pavement-debris and natural gas under high pressure upward and outward- with the gas catching fire almost immediately.

A fireball shot as high as 100 feet- and the flames were maintained by the high-pressure gas roaring from the broken line for the next 3 hours until the pipeline is purged of it's supply.

Homes within 100 feet of the flaming crater caught fire immediately- the increasing flames and radiated heat- fanned of winds around 20 m.p.h. and gusting- spread quickly to other structures downwind.

People- entire families literally ran for their lives- some escaped via their backyards.

With a crucial water main broken by the pipeline rupture- it wasn't until 30 minutes after the explosion when the first water hit flames- by then fire was roaring over and into buildings for a 3-block spread.

As of this report early Friday morning- there is 1 confirmed dead- and around 2 dozen injured- several of those critically.

The explosion's crater reportedly is at or near a location where there was some sort of playground- and there's no way of knowing in the chaos right now if there was anyone there when the pipeline blew- or on the street or in the nearby houses that were incinerated almost instantly.

Old Butch

John was in the fertilized egg business.
________

He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.

Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring.

He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Saint Lawrence County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.

Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.

Corporate Horsecrap: The Kansas City Power and Light Version

My very fine co-workers at KSHB-41 NBC Action News (breath) report that the new KCP&L coal-fired electric plant at Iatan that few people wanted has resulted in "millions in cost overruns that the company wants its customers to pay."

Now the corporate horsecrap: in that KSHB story- it's reported that a KCP&L spokesperson told The KANSAS CITY STAR that "the utility was “reasonable and prudent” in building the plant."

KCP&L spokesperson?

STFU!!!
