A Police-Involved Shooting Daily So Far in 2012

On Sunday morning- New Year's Day- a Kansas City KS police officer shot and killed a pedestrian the officer was trying to detain in the 4000 block of North 55th Drive.

Monday morning- Kansas City MO police shot and critically-wounded a man trying to run over them with a pickup truck near Blue Summit.

This incident occurred about 8:30 a.m. in the 8900 block of East 23rd Street.

Undercover officers had reportedly followed a stolen pickup truck to the 23rd Street address and were attempting to take the driver and a male and a female inside a house there into custody.

The pickup driver who was the one who got shot tried to run-over an officer or two- and rammed a patrol car before he was shot.
