Images of Hurricane-Like Storm As It Hits Chicago

A powerful line of severe thunderstorms swept through the Chicagoland Monday morning- knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of residents.

WGN-9 TV News in Chicago reports 615000 people without electricity around the Windy City as winds as high as 75 m.p.h. struck the area around 8 a.m..

Shown here is a series of images vid-capped from the Wrigley Field Webcam that begin before the storm hits the Wrigleyville area.

Notice the trashcans lining Addison Street in front of Wrigley before the storm struck- and how the powerful wind gusts in the last few images have blown the heavy cans around and into the street.

WGN is reporting several injuries from the storms- as well as several reports of trees and tree limbs downed onto vehicles and a hospitality tent blown down in a Chicago suburb.

That area is under a "moderate risk" of severe storms again later today.
