CSW WEATHER: Several Rounds of Severe Storms- Heavy Rains- Over Central States Next 5 Days

Portions of the American Central States- including Metro and MetroRegion Kansas City- are forecast to have off and on periods of storms- some severe- as well as heavy rainfalls over about the next 5 days.

Refer to the new National Weather Service's (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) graphics (Day 1: now through 7am Friday morning- Day 2: 7am Friday till 7am Saturday).

Metro Kansas City as well as portions of our MetroRegion are forecasted to possibly receive severe thunderstorms (tstms) later tonight and Friday- with additional chances late Sunday into mid next week.

Locally- the severe weather will mostly be large hail- but there is a possibility of tornadoes in tomorrow's (Friday) storms.

In addition- there's the risk of heavy rainfalls over the region with these storms- leading to possible flooding issues by at least next Tuesday

The latest 5-Day precipitation total forecast calls for more than 11-inches by mid next week in southwestern Missouri!

Please refer to the Hydro Prediction Center's (HPC) graphics (click on graphic for full size) posted here on the rainfall issues.

As always- CSW will be on top of ANY severe weather locally- as well as ANY flooding issues that may arise in this very active spring weather pattern that shows no immediate signs of abating soon.
