Around 2:15 am Saturday morning- 2 KC-MO Metro Zone police officers reported approaching a man in the park at 68th Street and the Paseo when the man showed a gun and started firing at the officers.
An "assist-the-officer" call went out at 2:17 am while the officers chased the shooter through the park to the 1800 block of 67th Terrace where- at 2:20 am- the officers shot the man.
The suspect was taken to a Metro hospital with critical injuries and the two officers will get some paid time off while internal affairs investigates.
