Three car wrecks over 40 minutes kill 2 and critically-injure at least 2 others.

The fatal crashes were in Jackson County Missouri and Johnson County Kansas.

***In Oak Grove, MO-34-year-old Fredy W. Walls of Blue Springs died at an area medical center after crashing a 2001 ACURA just after 2am on westbound I-70.
The MO Highway Patrol reports Walls struck the rear of another car at high speed- lost control and overturned several times.
Walls and his passenger Dawn M. Bueneman - 37 - of Wildwood, MO were ejected during the crash. She was flown by LifeNet medical helicopter to an area trauma center in serious condition. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.


***Around 2:30am-a single-car wreck on I-35 near Gardner, KS killed the male driver. The mid-sized car was southbound- left the road - and struck a wall. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by MedAct paramedics.

**A male driver is in critical condition at an area hospital after his vehicle struck a concrete median divider on I-435 at State Line around 1:50 am.


**Two men will live after a shooting at a south Kansas City, MO tavern.
It happened just after 2am- during a disturbance inside an establishment in the 8200 block of Hickman Mills Drive.
One victim was driven to a nearby hospital before police arrived. The other man- shot in the leg- was transported by MAST. An investigation is underway.


**A night manager of a Northland fast food establishment was robbed and carjacked in Gladstone around 5:45am. It happened at 72nd St. and North Oak. Police were seeking an armed male suspect and the manager's gray Chevy Corsica.


*Around 1:15am- someone set fire to a vacant house near the KC-Independence, MO border. The structure near Blue Ridge and Thompson was heavily-damaged and no one was hurt.
