For 79 years- a Kansas City winter holiday tradition.
This year- Blue Springs' celebrity David Cook and an unsuspecting child from an expected crowd of more than 250000 will pull the switch that activates tens of thousands of Christmas lights.
The weather Thanksgiving evening should be dry with light breezes- temperatures dropping slowly from highs in the low to middle-50's.

250,000?! Come now. Three times the capacity of Arrowhead in a district with about 1/10th the parking capacity? Somebody is pulling somebody's leg! I think even 25K would be a huge stretch having been there during years of supposed "record" crowds.
Heh Mark-
Unless you arrive on Halloween- you DON'T park IN The Plaza.
Last time I went (maybe this year) in '79 and we had to park up by Loose Park and walk down.
The 250k figure has been bandied about by the cops and local press over the years BTW..
Take a plane ride over the area after the switch is thown and you'll understand the area gridlock afterwards.
Merry Thanxgiving Mark- make sure u eat too much! (g)
