Kansas City MetroRegion Weather: Winter Storm Still On Track

OK folks- this one's going to be dicey....

A large part of the K.C. MetroRegion will remain under cold air- near to just below freezing temperatures- throughout the next 5 days or so.

Beginning as early as Saturday evening- precipitation will again start falling- and at this point the freezing rain-sleet and snow lines are VERY close to the K.C. Metro. Precipitation will continue- on and off- through at least Tuesday- perhaps Wednesday of next week.

Some portion of the K.C. MetroRegion (see maps for this area on right column) will experience heavy snow- 6 and more inches. Some portion of the MetroRegion will experience an ice scenario- the intensity of which should rival that of this area's January 2002 ice storm.

Kansas City itself will be on the ice-snow line- this storm even at this late hour indicates it could go either way with only a slight shift of the storm's actual track.

Regardless- there IS going to be a winter storm in the MetroRegion later this weekend into early next week.
