Two men- reported as "technicians" died around 9:30 am this morning when they fell 300 feet from a broadcast tower.
The 2 victims fell from the KMCI Channel 38 television tower near Eudora in northeastern Douglas County. They were reported to be employees of a cellular communications company.
KMCI is owned and operated by Scripps-Howard who also owns and operates NBC 41.
An investigation is underway.

CORRECTION - 1221 CDT - I have just learned from sources at my employer- NBC41- that "THIS TOWER IS NOT OWNED BY SCRIPPS-HOWARD."
The tower where this accident took place "...was sold to a firm in Topeka last year" the source stated.
