** INJURIES IN RIVERSIDE-MO APARTMENT BUILDING FIRE***** A 56-year-old woman got burned and inhaled smoke in an apartment building fire in Riverside around 2:15am Saturday morning. Her injuries were serious but not immediately life-threatening.
Another male suffered a bruised head but refused transport to a hospital from the scene of the 2-alarm fire in the 4400 block of De Mons Drive.
The first arriving of the 2 Riverside fire companies reported the 2-story building "heavily-involved" in flames and "possibly people trapped inside" at 2:25am.. Flames also caught at least part of a 2nd building.
Six other fire companies from Southern Platte and KC-MO Fire departments helped RIverside bring the fire under control by about 4:30am..
The cause of the fire was under investigation..
